Happy to hear of a new album. I hope its as good as Risen.
I have been an Angel fan from when I first heard their debut album back in 1975. I first saw them at the Place in Dover New Jersey and have seen every tour in the 70's. I am loving these 2 new albums Risen and Once Upon a Time. I have friends that are now becoming fans with these 2 new releases. Please, Please play half old songs and half new songs when you tour. Your new music is truly awesome and deserve to be played live with your new band. Frank's voice to me is as great as Freddie Mercury's and Punky's guitar playing to me is better that Brian May. Your new band is just a killer o…
Comment continued: There are always one or two songs you wish they'd done; regardless, it was a choice setlist. I still have my 70's Angel tees, but for decency's sake, bought a new one from the uber-cool merch girl. Picked up "Once Upon a Time" at Amoeba, getting "Risen," released on my son's bday, asap. You Rock, gentlemen...always have, always will. Hope to catch you live again soon! Till then, carry on with your bad selves. Love, sharonthedyslexicmess.
Until last week, when Jr. flew me down for your show, I hadn't seen Angel live in 4 1/2 decades! Despite some technical glitches (I'm pointing at you, Whisky sound crew), the Hollywood gig exceeded all expectations: band in top form, quality musicianship/teamwork, and rockin' stage presence. Frank's voice is as good if not better than back in the day, him nailing (and sustaining) notes I can't even hit anymore, and I'm a classically trained soprano! Not much to say about Punky that hasn't been repeated a million times over; nevertheless, he's still looking good and kicking ass on that Strat! This line-up has a killer rhythm section and impressive keyboardist.
